Here is my thought on Cinco de Mayo - the Mexican holiday in celebration of a war Mexico had won in 1862 against the French. I think, and not just for Mexico, that celebrating war is insane. Think about it; its like a slap in the face to the losers. C'mon - its antagonistic... Right? I think so! It's childish too; its like an annual "Haha - you lose and we won." I want something to celebrate everyday, but war is not one of them. If one cant find something to celebrate, then, simply put, celebrate that your still breathing. Regardless, I still tip my over-priced Corona (donkey piss) to them.
Don't get me wrong... war, at times, is a necessary evil to defeat a bigger evil... I guess. I still don't condone it and do not relish in celebrating it either.
This leads me into my thoughts on immigration... well, becoming a citizen by lotto, green-card, or naturalization - for me - is not enough. I want 'em to be able to speak, read, and write - English. I'm sick of pressing one for English and all these dual-signage posted through-out MY America - I hate it! I hate feeling like I should learn their language! Where are the standards? Raise the fucking bar! Don't complain to me about filling out paper-work! Sadly, that paper-work is probably in his/her native language. Fuck off!
